Served on toasted rye bread and finished with creamy Thousand Island dressing, this hearty sandwich is a delicious way to enjoy a Pennsylvania Dutch classic with a fun modern twist.

Ingredients:

8 slices rye bread

1/2 cup Thousand Island dressing

8 slices swiss cheese

8 slices deli sliced corned beef

1 cup Jake & Amos Old Fashioned Sauerkraut

Potato chips

2 Tablespoons butter

Directions:

  1. Gather all ingredients and preheat a large griddle or skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Butter side down, spread one side of bread slices evenly with Thousand Island dressing. 
  4. On four bread slices, layer one slice of swiss cheese, 2 slices of corned beef, 1/4 cup of Jake & Amos Old Fashioned Sauerkraut, a small handful of potato chips and a second slice of cheese. Top with remaining bread slices, dressing side down. 
  5. Place the sandwiches, butter-side down on the preheated griddle. Grill until both sides are golden brown, about 5 minutes per side. 
  6. Slice sandwiches diagonally. Serve hot, and enjoy!
