Slow Cooker Pepper Steak

This Slow Cooker Pepper Steak recipe gives you super tender beef in a rich, thick sauce made with a delicious mix of ginger, soy sauce, and honey. For added flavor, this recipe includes Jake & Amos Sweet & Hot Pepper Strips, to add a flavorful and slightly spicy profile to this dish. Serve over white rice and garnish with spring onion.
Ingredients:
1 jar (16 ounces) of Jake & Amos Sweet & Hot Pepper Strips, drained
1 can (15 ounces) can of fire-roasted diced tomatoes, left in their juices
3 pounds sirloin steak, cut into 3/4 inch thick slices
8 ounces mushrooms of your choice, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 large white onion, sliced
1 1/2 cups beef broth, divided
1/2 cup soy sauce
3 tablespoons light brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
2 teaspoons granulated garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Directions:
- Whisk 1 cup of the beef broth with the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, salt, pepper, ginger, and garlic together in a medium mixing bowl and set aside.
- Add the steak, green and red peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, and onion to the slow cooker.
- Pour the sauce into the slow cooker and stir until combined.
- Cover slow cooker with lid and cook on high for 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes.
- Whisk the cornstarch and remaining 1/2 cup of beef broth together in a small bowl. Pour into the slow cooker and stir until combined.
- Add the Jake & Amos Sweet & Hot Pepper Strips to slow cooker, cover, and let it cook for another 3 hours or until the sauce has thickened and the beef is tender.
- Serve over rice and garnish with green onions.
